CORRODE Info
Credits:
All sounds and voices by Eric Yorke
Recorded at Scrape HQ, Spring 1994
Artwork by Ryan Lupien

Production: What production? The first album of Scrape was best described by Todd Zachritz as a very primitve Dive. The cassette was originally copied onto off the shelf cassettes (about 15 of these were made). Eventually, professional blank cassettes were used and approximately 20 were copied at home as well. The actual recording was simply done to master metal cassette with no overdubs (with the exception of No Way Out). Only 2 tracks were actually sequenced (Dogfucker, and Damage), the rest were recorded live (voice and all) to cassette.

There was no sampler in those early days and no computer. Equipment list was as follows: Korg DW-8000 synth Boss BX-4 4 channel mixer Peavey bass amp (for effects---cranked up to create a buzz on the voice) Teac cassette recorder later in the sessions, I bought an Ensoniq ESQ-1 synth with a sequencer! Artwork: The original artwork was created by Ryan Lupien. The cover went through 2 distinct stages (the second included lyrics) but still very minimal by any standards.

The entire 'corrode' release was originally intended to be the first and last release by Scrape. Obviously this didn't happen. Cassettes were made and sent to various underground music collectors and some fanzines. This introduced Scrape to the tape trading underground. It also opened my eyes to the world of underground artists (many of whom are now releasing cd's).
